Student Assistants Selection Process

University Housing and Residence Life (UHRL) is excited to announce that we are currently in the process of selecting student staff during the 2025-2026 Academic Year. We encourage those that are interested to review the positions below and submit an application for any area of interest. Open Positions
The Summer Student Assistants (SSA) will be helping out with the day to day operations with CSUEB Housing Office/Mailroom and Summer Conferencing. UHRL hosts a wide range of groups that are using our facilities and campus to enhance the experiences of summer residents and summer conferences. Summer Student Assistants are the welcoming face of University Housing and CSU Â鶹Éç in ensuring that their needs are being met and running operations for conferencing.
SSAs also serve as After Hours Support Staff (AHSS) and are provided housing (room) and a meal plan for time served in the AHSS role. Housing and the meal plan are for the Summer 2025 term only.
SSAs work approximately 30 hours per week and receive an hourly rate of $18.00.
Candidates Must have completed 2 semesters of enrollment at CSU Â鶹Éç
Candidates Must be available to work a minimum of 30 hours per week if not enrolled in summer courses
Candidates Must be available to work a minimum of 20 hours per week if enrolled in summer courses

The Customer Service Student Assistant position (Fall 2025) directly supports the University Housing and Residence Life Office, under the direct supervision of the Office Coordinator. The position is responsible for supporting the main functions of the Lassen Housing Office and El Dorado Hall Mailroom.
(The CSA role is not a live-in position, and does not provide housing or meal plan.)
Successful candidates must be enrolled as a full time student at CSU Â鶹Éç
Full time enrollment is defined as 12 units for an undergraduate student and 8 units for a Master’s candidate.
Possess minimum cumulative and semester GPA requirement of 2.5.
Be in good judicial standing with University Housing and Residence Life.
Be available to work during regular business hours, 8:00am – 7:30pm, Monday – Friday and weekend hours, 10:30am-2:30pm

If Offered a Position:
Livescan: This applies if you have never completed one for the campus or it’s been 2 or more years since your last one. You will receive more information regarding this after accepting your offer.
Hiring Packet: You will receive more information regarding this after the results from your livescan come back. Please note it can take 1-2 weeks to receive the livescan results. The hiring packet also includes going to payroll and completing I-9 Employment Verification paperwork if you have not worked on campus. It is recommended that you gather all documents needed for the completion of this paperwork in advance so it does not delay your onboarding process. Online Training Modules: You will receive more information on required onboarding training once your hiring paperwork is processed and your staff email is set up. Please note it can take a few weeks (and sometimes longer) for all paperwork to process.
If you are currently a CSU Â鶹Éç or a UHRL student employee, understand you may need to do complete refresher training or check-ins with Livescan.
